Frequently Asked HOA Questions
A: No. Your mortgage includes payment to principal, interest, taxes and insurance; never HOA dues.
A: No. Community mailboxes are maintained by the United States Postal Service (USPS), and the HOA does not have access to mailbox keys or individual mailboxes.
If you lose your mailbox key or experience an issue with your mailbox, you will need to contact USPS for assistance. Depending on the situation, USPS may be able to rekey the lock, or you may need to hire a locksmith to make a replacement key at your expense.
A: Make checks payable to your HOA NOT the management company. There are several ways you can pay your dues:
- You can send a personal check to our office made payable to your HOA;
- You can set up a bill payment through your bank made payable to your HOA and have mailed to our office.
- You can also make your HOA dues payment through your AppFolio portal, or if your HOA offers ACH payments, you can sign up for this form of payment. These payments are processed from your account on the 15th of each month; there is no charge for this service.
A: HOA dues and special assessments are mandatory obligations of property ownership within the association. If payments are not made when due, the HOA may assess late fees, interest, collection costs, and other charges as permitted by the association’s governing documents and applicable state law.
Continued non-payment may result in the HOA pursuing collections, recording a lien against the property, and exercising other legal remedies available under the governing documents and state law. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, it is important to contact the HOA or management company as soon as possible to discuss your options.
A: Homeowners associations are governed by a set of covenants, conditions, restrictions, rules, and regulations that all property owners agree to follow when purchasing a home within the community. These guidelines may regulate items such as exterior paint colors, fencing, landscaping, parking, architectural modifications, pets, and property maintenance.
The purpose of these standards is to help preserve the appearance of the community, protect property values, and promote a consistent living environment for all residents. Homeowners should review their association’s governing documents to understand the specific rules that apply to their property.
Your HOA covenants/bylaws are listed on our website here.
